Resumen
Abstract The article evaluates Habermas’s proposal of a Post-Secular society. Through a revision of the debate on how some authors place religion in the public sphere, the article, first, offers an outlining about what we mean when we refer to a Post-Secular society. Secondly, it explains Habermas’s normative proposal, and presents some critiques made to his view, including a possible new objection in the view of intercultural dialogue. The article concludes by recognizing the importance of an argument that avoids the scenario of both incommensurability and conflict, but it also makes use of some critiques made to Habermas’ position to point out that demanding a translation of arguments to a neutral public space does not satisfactorily help to solve many problems or scenarios typical of the growing pluralism of contemporary societies.
