Resumen
The present work called "Design of a Clinical Environment and Equipment for an Isolation Room for Pediatric Patients in Pulmonology with Biosafety Protocol" is a proposal for a biosafety protocol based on the design prototype of an environment for an isolation room for pediatric patients (schoolchildren from six (6) to twelve (12) years old), for which the medical equipment and furniture items that should be used in these spaces focused on the pulmonology area are taken into account, in order to find enhance the experience of isolation and recovery as a natural environment for the child to function with confidence. In this sense, a clinical and equipment environment is designed for a pediatric isolation room in the pulmonology area, having an engineering file, based on the search for parameters or missing requirements in some institutions in the city of Bogotá that have this service. In addition, a biosafety protocol is designed, associated with this environment, which contains detailed steps for contact with the patient, entering and leaving the room. Likewise, formal documentation is integrated, to give theoretical foundation to the designed environments that allow the patient to have spaces for fun, entertainment, learning, expression and protection in the hospitalization and recovery process.
