This task is approached from the cultural history of animals, an approach that deals with the image that human beings have of these living beings in society and culture. This thesis confirms that the zoological knowledge of the ancient world served as a point of support for some writers of the time who opposed human singularity based on news and stories that deal with the virtue of animals.
