| dc.description | The aim of this paper is to describe and to analyse the techno-morphological features of a sample of harpoon heads founded in stratigraphic context at Cueva del Negro site at the northern coast of Santa Cruz Province (Argentina). Those pieces have been elaborated on bone but a fragment on wood has been founded associate to them. Comparative analysis will be performed with bibliographic information about other samples found at continental Patagonia and its presence within the archaeological record from northern coast of Santa Cruz, will be discussed considering those instruments as a product of specialized technology oriented to the hunting of littoral resources. | |
| dc.description | Este trabajo tiene como objetivo describir y analizar las características tecno-morfológicas de un conjunto de puntas de arpón halladas en estratigrafía en el sitio Cueva del Negro, ubicado en la costa norte de la provincia de Santa Cruz (Argentina). La mayoría de las piezas han sido manufacturadas en hueso, aunque un ejemplar fue confeccionado sobre madera. Se utilizará, con fines comparativos, información bibliográfica sobre otros ejemplares recuperados en la Patagonia continental. Se discutirá la presencia de las puntas de arpón en el registro arqueológico como indicadores de tecnologías con diseños especializados para la explotación de recursos marinos en la costa norte de Santa Cruz. | |
