Resumen
This monographic study entitled “Education Management: A Leadership Position at
School” is a bibliographical research in the context of knowledge production. The
work aimed at discussing the importance of an education management delineated by
the leadership position in the administrative and educational actions. Firstly, one
briefly analyzed the historical evolution of the educational management and its
implication nowadays. Following that, one started from the leadership models of
great leaders as Welch, Hunter, Farber and Bernardinho, and tried to define the role
of leadership in an institution. At last, tracing some features of the leader managers
and relating the benefits of the leadership in the educational action, one can realize
that schools which have leader managers and provide the formation of new leaders,
are more easily able to reach the proposed goals, once they have a fundamental
role for the good course of educational activities, providing a proper environment to
learning and to personal and professional growth of those involved in the teachinglearning
process. Through basic actions as: serving, loving, respecting, influencing
and working hard, the leader manager is able to be closer to each student’s reality
and also to the community where he/she is living, establishing bonds with the local
society and thus conquering their respect and admiration.
