The present work has the main theme the mediation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the area of special education. The research objective was to create strategies for literacy, with the use of ICT in the EEA for literacy for the student with ID. The problem researched was how to use digital resources to help in the literacy process of these students. The methodology is characterized as a case study of qualitative aspect. The development of this work was at a State School of Basic Education, located in a rural area, so that, being a Rural School, in the city of Agudo/Rs. The participants were area teachers from the 7th grade of elementary school, and a student with ID, not literate, enrolled at this group and at the SEA of the school. The instruments for the data collection were a form answered by the teachers, a file document done at a text editor on the computer and online games used with this student. Data were collected during the second semester of the current year, and after, the analysis was described in categorization as the research happened. It is concluded that ICT are tools that allow diverse methodologies to overcome the difficulties of students with ID. When the pedagogical use is well planned, it helps establishing a favorable mediation for the students development and overcoming the challenges faced as the literacy.
