Resumen
The environmental education understood as a transforming practice, which involves the formation of critic and responsible citizens towards a development that respects the most different kinds of life forms. By this principle, this research sought to answer the following question: is it possible to promote an integration class for the impaired people through socio-environmental education and cinema? To answer such question, we sought to comprehend who are the impaired, what are they limitations and how they can be integrated into society. Moreover, we also sought to acknowledge the characteristics of environmental education, socio-environmental and to comprehend how the cinema can contribute in an educational manner. We know that the different is seen with weirdness, despite and pitifully by society. Taking that into account, the aim of this study is to reflect upon the impaired in nowadays, but in an optimistic way because the limits do not impede that they have a long life, full of experiences of sharing. Thus, we sought to teach not to discriminate and to interact with such individuals, using social communicational tools such as a short film and a folder. The short film, called “To those who want to listen” is about a young man encounters a deaf girl on a bus and such impairment does not impede him to interact with her, though he does not know the Sign Language. Besides the usage of a short film as an educational tool, the result product of this monograph is the production of a folder that seeks to teach people to interact with the visual impaired, hearing impaired, physical impaired and mental impaired people.
