Resumen
This study aimed to perform the measurement of Pinus taeda L. forest on Small Format Aerial Photographs (SFAP) using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) microdrone md4-1000. The study area is located on the campus of Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), which was enclosed a portion of 1292.33 m2. With the use of a GNSS receiver RTK coordinates were obtained from 11 targets arranged on the ground and also to 6 vertices belonging to the beds Shamrock west access UFSM. The camera used was the Olympus Pen E-P1 12MP and 17mm focal length nominal. The flight was carried out over the area to a height of 104.33 m, providing a spatial resolution of 2.68 cm. At this height were obtained 10 photographs of which one was selected as the sample unit. After the flight was made to read the SD card microdrone providing flight data for later analysis and reporting. The selected photo it was georeferenced to the delimitation of the study plot, in which 80 trees were counted and of these, 52 had their crowns in the photograph measures and the CAP measured field. With this data set was a model to describe the relationship between crown area and basal area, resulting in a coefficient of determination R2 = 0,279. The use of microdrone md4-1000 showed promise for applications in forest resources, providing great detail in the photographs obtained due to the high spatial resolution.
