Do real ao possível: o cuidado de gestantes puérperas HIV/AIDS na atenção básica

This article refers to an intervention with professionals of three units of primary health care (two Strategies for Family Health and Primary Care in Community Agents) of a medium-sized city's inner gaucho. Such intervention was performed by these units rely on more pregnant / postpartum women with HIV / AIDS, was developed by a social worker and a nurse in a Multidisciplinary Integrated Residency Program, working in Line Mother-Baby Care in a Hospital that has Outpatient prenatal High Risk and infectious diseases, pregnant women who attend local / postpartum women and their children with HIV / AIDS. A meeting was held at each health facility in order to identify the level of knowledge of the staff on reception, counseling and monitoring of pregnant / postpartum women with HIV / AIDS and newborns and, more importantly, discuss a flow of care, ie, the trajectory that these women and their children roam the health network, in order to broaden the knowledge of those professionals qualified attention and favor of women and children with HIV / AIDS. The results demonstrate that Primary Care professionals have sufficient knowledge about the biological aspects - which is, as is manifested and transmitted HIV / AIDS, however, have limited understanding and uncertainty about his role opposite the reception, advice and assistance of pregnant / postpartum women and their newborns. In this sense, it is important to continued formation of Primary Care, especially in regard to counseling and monitoring of pregnant / postpartum women with HIV / AIDS and their children.
