Resumen
This work has as its theme the democratic management, which consists of the parti-cipation and collaboration of the community (parents, teachers, employees and stu-dents) in school decisions, contemplating a space for dialogue, collective discussions and strategies that seek to meet the needs and purposes of the school. Thus, this study sought to analyze the challenges and perspectives of the public school mana-gers of Santana do Livramento / RS regarding the participation of the school commu-nity. The research methodology was qualitative, such as a field research where semi
- structured interviews were conducted to collect data and documentary analysis of the Pedagogical Political Project of two children 's schools. Two teachers, two tea-chers and two parents of two public schools in the public school system were inclu-ded in this study. From the acquired bibliographical knowledge and collected data, it was possible to verify that community participation is essential to consolidate the de-mocratic paths that increase the quality of teaching. In addition, it consolidates into an effective practice in the daily life of the children's schools of the municipality, ho-wever, there is still a resistance of the management in contemplating the PPP as a facilitating tool of the school organization and of the full exercise of community parti-cipation, as well as involve parents more effectively in school decisions.
