Institución
Resumen
The article analyzes the information from the register of complaints of discrimination based on sexual
orientation and gender identity in the Ministry of Education of Chile (MINEDUC) in the period 2009 - 2014.
Through charts and graphs the characteristics and distribution of these complaints are shown talking about
type of complainant, sex and education level of victims, region and municipality where the discrimination
took place, type of school and means by which complaints are made. From the Analysis of the data shows that
although there is a breakthrough to have a national register of allegations of discrimination based on sexual
orientation or gender identity, and the awakening of consciousness of the violation of rights of LGBT students
still missing much to eliminate homophobia in Chilean schools, especially by the prejudices of teachers and
managers themselves, and the deficit in the teacher training in cohabitation with diversity.
