| dc.description | Resumo: Filhos de pacientes com transtorno afetivo bipolar (TAB) apresentam maior risco de desenvolverem psicopatologias e dificuldades psicossociais tanto pela alta herdabilidade da condição quanto pelas vivências associadas. O TAB é um transtorno do humor e caracteriza-se por estados emocionais com sinais e sintomas persistentes por semanas ou meses, com acentuado desvio do desempenho habitual dos indivíduos e com recorrência periódica ou cíclica. O presente estudo tem como objetivo compreender as vivências emocionais dos filhos adultos cujas mães receberam o diagnóstico de TAB enquanto eles eram crianças e que estão em tratamento no Ambulatório de Psiquiatria Geral de Adultos do Hospital de Clínicas da UNICAMP. Trata-se de uma pesquisa clínico-qualitativo, que foi feita por meio de entrevistas semidirigidas em profundidade, em uma amostra intencional, fechada pelo critério de saturação. As entrevistas foram feitas individualmente no Ambulatório de Psiquiatria Geral de Adultos do Hospital de Clínicas da UNICAMP, após a leitura explicativa e a assinatura do termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido. Cuidados éticos foram tomados seguindo as normas preconizadas pelo Conselho Nacional de Saúde. A técnica de tratamento de dados foi feita por meio da análise de conteúdo das entrevistas transcritas na íntegra, o que gerou uma categorização. Os resultados foram submetidos à validação externa, com dois professores especialistas e junto ao Laboratório de Pesquisa Clínico-Qualitativo do Departamento de Psicologia Médica e Psiquiatria da UNICAMP. Os achados sugerem que o transtorno da mãe é vivenciado pelos filhos como traumático, com consequentes experiências emocionais de desamparo e falta de investimento afetivo. Os entrevistados relatam que há insegurança por assumirem responsabilidade precocemente invertida na necessidade de cuidado com a mãe e em relação à instabilidade do quadro. Desse modo, é possível identificar falta de satisfação pessoal e um abandono de suas próprias vidas para priorizar a função de cuidador. Os resultados também sugerem que os filhos demonstram medo diante da percepção de que tendem a lidar com as dificuldades da vida com alterações de humor semelhantes à de suas mães numa aparente identificação com os sintomas maternos. O presente estudo se propõe a colaborar com a ampliação dos conhecimentos no que se refere aos aspectos psicológicos destes filhos. | dc.description | Abstract: Offspring of patients with bipolar disorder (BD) are at increased risk of developing psychopathology and psychosocial difficulties both because of the high heritability of the condition and the experiences associated to it. BD is a mood disorder, characterized by emotional states of mania, hipomania or depression signs and symptoms, whose persist for weeks or months, with a significant deviation from the usual performance of individuals and periodic or cyclical recurrence. This study aims to understand the emotional experiences of adult children whose mothers were diagnosed with BD while they were children and who are undergoing treatment in General Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic for Adults at HC/UNICAMP. This is a clinical-qualitative research, which was conduced through semi-structured interviews, in an intentional sample, closed by the saturation criterion. The interviews were conducted individually at the General Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic for Adults at HC/UNICAMP and after the explanatory reading and signing the Informed Consent Term. Ethical concerns have been taken following the guidelines recommended by the National Health Council. Data processing technique was performed through content analysis of the interviews, which were transcribed and categorized. The results were subjected to external validation by two specialist professors and by members of the Clinical-Qualitative Research Laboratory of the Department of Medical Psychology and Psychiatry at UNICAMP. They suggest that children¿s experiences are traumatic their mothers disorder, with consequent emotional experiences of helplessness and lack of affective investment. Respondents report that there is insecurity for taking early responsibility for the needed care of their mothers and for the instability of their disorder. Thus, it is possible to identify reports of lack of personal satisfaction and neglect of their own lives to prioritize the caregiver role. The findings also suggest that children show fear on their perceptions of dealing with difficulties of life, with mood changes similar to their mothers, in an apparent identification with their maternal symptoms. The present study intends to collaborate with the expansion of the knowledge regarding the psychological aspects of these children. The findings emphasize the need for psychosocial attention to this population | |
