This research project aims to present, discuss and analyze the use of several languages by students and how the linkage of these languages leads us to a clearer understanding of the information presented for study. Here, we see the need of a theorical deepening and discussion of the languages that surround us daily in society, focusing on the concept of data made by verbal and non-verbal languages. This proposal is relevant because there is a lot of talk about new languages and the use of semiosis, but a little work being done where it would be more suitable for this purpose, the school. In a qualitative manner, this study was conducted using the data collected from activities developed by the students of a public high school in the city of Campinas, participant of the project "Ribeirão Anhumas na Escola". Thus, we will study the non-verbal language regarding oral or written languages, showing the interaction between them, enabling a dialogue between the various disciplines that use them, without placing them on opposite sides of the same process taking, that way, the fieldwork as a basis for clarification of the the discussions established in the classroom. The concept of non-verbal text ideas and the recognition of pictorial resources will also be evaluated. In a general manner, the teaching of the different languages is needed to warn the student that these are based on words and also images. The work with the visual resources aims to make the student develop their perception of the ideas contained in it and not only realize it just as an illustration without importance. The reading and analysis of different images make that other areas of the Portuguese Language discipline to be contemplated such as the textual production, the oral or written, and the reasoning. This work with verbal and non verbal language opened discussions previously unimagined for the discipline, such as discussions about the region's problems and even about laws and it made the students think about the image as a different and necessary language for their development as citizens. We hope the students realize that language is not just a set of words, but also a set of images that should be assessed in the overall context of their production as well as reading Mestrado Ensino de Ciencias e Matematica Mestra em Ensino de Ciências e Matemática
