O Modernismo foi um movimento revolucionário, de natureza internacional, que se instalou como símbolo importante para a criação artístico-literária. No Brasil, teve seu início com a Semana de Arte Moderna (1922), em que surgem obras que oscilam na sensibilidade da transição, muitas vezes conservando forças que persistem do passado e as que brotam do novo presente, inaugurando uma nova forma de representar as diversas culturas. O mito, instrumento de estruturação da narrativa, tornou-se próprio da estética modernista; neste sentido busca-se mostrar, neste artigo, como ocorre o processo de remitologização da serpente nas obras Cobra Norato e Perto do coração selvagem, a partir dos estudos de renomados pesquisadores tais como Elieser Mielietinski, Gilbert Durand, Carl Jung, entre outros, que defendem ser o mito a matéria basilar da criação. The modernism was a revolutionary movement, international in nature, that became a great symbol for the artistic-literature creation. In Brazil, it begun at the Modern Art Week (1922), in which works that oscillate in the sensibility of the transition of the present begins to appear,often conserving forces that persist from the past and those that spring from the new present, inaugurating a new way of representing the diverse cultures. The myth, instrument of the narrative structure, became its own modernist aesthetic; in this sense, this article aims to show how the process of remythologize of serpents in literature works such as Cobra Norato and Perto do Coração Selgavem happens, having as a start point studies done by renowned researches such as Elieser Mielietinski, Gilbert Durand and Carl Jung, beyond others, who argue myths are the basic material of creation.
