Berrio. At present, managing to keep up with the new demands of the 21st century as skills
related to thinking are fostered is a challenge that must be assumed from the educational context
in order to contribute to the training of competent people in the resolution of problems. problems
applicable to everyday life. That is why this research addresses how, through the programming
language with Scratch and the STEAM method implemented from the technology area, the
development of computational thinking in 6th grade students is encouraged. Likewise, the
positive impact generated with the incorporation of digital tools in the teaching-learning
processes.
It is important to highlight that the type of research applied in this work was nonexperimental quantitative, using the survey as a method and the questionnaire as a technique,
where a descriptive analysis is made. In this same context, two instruments (Pretest-Posttest) are
applied with the aim of diagnosing the previous pre-knowledge of the students in programming
logic and then measuring the skills acquired during the development of the research. This is how,
taking into account the results obtained, it is possible to affirm that the implementation of Scratch
oriented from the Edmodo platform and incorporating STEAM allows to obtain positive results
in the students, thus reflecting changes in their way of thinking when solving problems. In
addition, other factors of greater impact such as interpretive coherence, understanding and critical
analysis. All this, focused on promoting the development of computational thinking in 6th grade
students at Juan Evangelista Berrio.
