The study focuses on natural floods related to river networks, evaluating both flash and slow floods. The flood potential in areas close to bodies of water is analyzed, mainly due to meteorological events such as intense precipitation. Floods are classified into different types depending on the concentration of sediments. The methodology used includes the identification of historical flood events and their impact, as well as the analysis of the hydrography and the maximum flow of the water bodies in the area. The data collected is used to create maps and identify areas at risk of flooding. These results are validated by mathematical modeling and compared with historical data and geomorphological analyses. The end result of the study is a flood hazard map that can be used for land planning. This map makes it possible to accurately identify the areas that are at risk of flooding, providing valuable information to take preventive measures and carry out adequate risk management. In addition, this map can be used as a resource in determining infrastructure planning, as well as for the allocation of means and resources in flood-prone areas.Based on the above, in this work a high threat due to flooding was identified along the San Eugenio River. This threat is related to heights of water sheet greater than 0.01 m and less than 5.5 m and speeds greater than 0.65 m/s and less than 8 m/s and the medium threat in areas where the height of the water sheet and flow velocity are less than 0.5 m and 2 m/s respectively.
