Resumen
This work presents an analysis of different management conceptions starting from defended
monographs in the course of Specialization in Education Administration of UFSM. In a
universe of ninety monographs defended in the period from 2001 to 2005, thirty nine were
selected to be read and discussed.
Among the used bibliographies we especially detached two authors, namely, Benno Sander
and José C. Libâneo as main references in the development of the work.
Thus, with the different conceptions of administration of Libâneo (2005), and with two charts
organized based on information from the read monographs, it was possible to analyze what
each specialist understood as education management, in other words, we intended to
understand more precisely who were the education managers for each one of them, and to
map their different conceptions.
The work is divided in to five chapters; the first makes a brief presentation of the work, the
second is a historical report on the Education Administration, the third discusses the
methodology used for the accomplishment of the present monograph, the fourth the deals
with analysis of the data of the research and finally the fifth presents conclusions of the
research that signal a concept of management still so directed to the traditional conception of administration.
