Thyroid cancer is currently the most common malignant neoplasm of the endocrine system in addition to being more frequent and represents 1% of all cancers. The purpose of this research was to deepen knowledge of thyroid cancer, prevalence, clinical manifestations and risk factors in adults in Latin America, this cancer being more frequent in women. The objective of this study is to determine risk factors and clinical manifestations in thyroid cancer in adults in Latin America, through a documentary methodology of descriptive scope that allowed describing the behavior of the variables through the selection and analysis of articles related to the subject. It was determined that the prevalence of thyroid cancer has significant data at the Latin American level, with an incidence of 3.6 per 100,000 inhabitants per year, its main risk factors are family history, exposure to ionizing radiation and lifestyle, whose most frequent clinical manifestation is the presence of a lump or goiter in the neck. It is concluded that thyroid cancer is a pathology with high prevalence and incidence in Latin American countries, who's most frequent risk factors are those associated with hereditary factors, exposure to ionizing radiation, among others, most of the cases that are presented. The patients do not show characteristic clinical manifestations, only the presence of increased mass in the neck, affecting more than 80% of the female sex.
