Resumen
In this paper, the authors discuss a new synthesis approach to train associative memories, based on recurrent neural networks (RNNs). They propose to use soft margin training for associative memories, which is efficient when training patterns are not all linearly separable. On the basis of the soft margin algorithm used to train support vector machines (SVMs), the new algorithm is developed in order to improve the obtained results via optimal training algorithm also innovated by the authors, which are not fully satisfactory due to that some times the training patterns are not all linearly separable. This new algorithm is used for the synthesis of an associative memory considering the design based on a RNN with the connection matrix having upper bounds on the diagonal elements to reduce the total number of spurious memory. The scheme is evaluated via a full scale simulator to diagnose the main faults occurred in fossil electric power plants. Four sampling stations with different environmental conditions; sediment size, wave exposure and proxmity of freshwater runoff; were selected along the bay. Monthly samplings were carried out during a year using a suction sampler. Sediment samples were also taken to analyze granulometry and organic load. For analysis purposes data were pooled according to climatic periods present in the area, dry season-winter and rainy season-summer. The north part of the bay showed fine sediment, silt and clay, with higher organic matter percentage, doubling the south percentages during summer, higher density of macrofauna, with a clear dominance of scaphopods and polychaetes; 88% of total abundance; and lower diversity and evenness. Scaphopods showed densities up to 9 788 ind m-2. The south part of the bay showed coarser sediment; mainly fine sand; with lower organic matter content, lower macrofaunal density and higher diversity and evenness. Scaphopod densities were much lower in this area. High significant correlation was found between macrofaunal assemblages and the percentage of silt and organic matter (Spearman rs= 0.94).",,,,,,"10.7550/rmb.41419",,,"http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12104/44616","http://www.scopus.com/inward/record.url?eid=2-s2.0-84913569069&partnerID=40&md5=1a2e9936202e25c2e7cba28c0ebd7c90",,,,,,"4",,"Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad",,"1171 1183",,"85",,"Scopus WOS",,,,,,"Benthic communities; Coastal; Organic matter; Pacific Ocean; Sediment size; Soft bottom; Tropical",,,,,,"Soft-sediment benthic assemblages of Bahía de Navidad (Jalisco, México): Spatial and seasonal patterns [Comunidades de fondos blandos submareales de la bahía de Navidad (Jalisco, México): Patrones espaciales y temporales]",,"Article"

Additionally, a group of 54 healthy subjects (HS) was included. The allelic frequency of the -670 polymorphism of Fas was determined using PCR-RFLP analysis, and sFas levels were assessed by ELISA. Additionally, the WT-1 protein level in urine was measured. The Fas receptor was determined in biopsies by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (FISH) and apoptotic features by TUNEL. Results. The -670 Fas polymorphism showed that the G allele was associated with increased SLE susceptibility, with an odds ratio (OR) of 1.86. The sFas was significantly higher in LN patients with the G/G genotype, and this subgroup exhibited correlations between the sFas level and proteinuria and increased urinary WT-1 levels. LN group shows increased expression of Fas and apoptotic features. In conclusion, our results indicate that the G allele of the -670 polymorphism of Fas is associated with genetic susceptibility in SLE patients with elevated levels of sFas in LN with proteinuria.
