Abstract
Violence marked by asymmetrical relationships and differential treatment of
girls and boys are the beginning of a failed society. This research seeks to
"Understand how gender roles affect the development of identity and
coexistence, in girls and boys from 4 to 5 years of a Fiscal Educational
Center of Guayaquil. From a population of 806 participants, a sample was
taken at the convenience of 83 members. The research has a quali-
quantitative approach with an interview with the director and teachers, a
Likert scale survey for families and a drawing technique for children. The
results show that there is an understanding and commitment associated
with equality; Girls and boys can cook or play with dolls, however, a small
percentage of perceptions based on stereotypes prevails that requires
planning co-educational activities to strengthen identity and coexistence
free of stereotypes, through the pedagogical manual.
