Resumen
The present work aims to create a performance proposal of the Sonatina Oriental for flute
and piano by the composer David Díaz Loyola. The object of study is linked to the need to
create theoretical material that benefits the interpreter interested in performing the above
mentioned piece or others with similar characteristics. The proposed objectives were to
carry out a formal and technical analysis of the Sonatina Oriental for interpretive purposes,
to generate a historical-stylistic context for the composer, to develop a performance
proposal with suggestions and tools for working out technical difficulties and to perform
the piece. The research techniques used were a bibliographical review, the compilation of
historical data, and the analysis of the piece according to the Guía Práctica para la
Aplicación Metodológica del Análisis Musical by Luis Ángel de Benito and Javier Artaza
Fano. The main results of this work include a performance proposal for the piece and a
theoretical basis for any student who would like to approach the study of the Sonatina
Oriental by Díaz Loyola.
