Resumen
The aim of the present work was to identify the knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) on gender in the students of the Admission and Levelling Unit in the Escuela Superior Politécnica of Chimborazo, period December 2018 - February 2019 with the purpose of studying the problematic of discrimination and gender violence. The type of research that was used for the development of the project was descriptive and transversal in which the Knowledge Attitudes and Practices survey was applied to a population of 1146 students; 652 men and 494 women, statistical software was used for the results. It was found that a high percentage (53%) of the respondents do not know terms about gender, referring to the results about attitudes, it was determined that 24% approve of beating a woman, with respect to why the abuse occurs in the population , it was observed that the apparent cause is due to sequels of abuse in the victim's childhood; Regarding gender practices, it was found that most of the respondents agree with the legal recognition of equal marriage in the country, but there is also a significant group that would not agree that their children have a same-sex couple. We can conclude that the results show that the respondents as far as gender is concerned, show that their knowledge is low, their attitudes are deficient and their practices are ineffective; therefore, it was considered to design a training manual on gender for the facilitator, in search of knowledge, attitudes and positive practices, with the objective of raising awareness and gender equality training for the levelling students. This training manual will contribute positively to the mental, physical and social health of our environment.
