Las mujeres en edad reproductiva con obesidad y antecedentes familiares de diabetes mellitus tipo 2, presentan riesgo de desarrollar diabetes mellitus gestacional (DMG) La investigación tiene como Objetivo Identificar la obesidad como factor desencadenante de diabetes gestacional. Con un estudio no experimental, de tipo transversal, y muestra de 100 pacientes, se investigó su historial clínico, datos de laboratorio y antropométricos, encontrando los siguientes resultados: el 10% presentan un IMC >40, y el 30% presentan diagnóstico de DMG, La glucosa postprandial el valor más representativo fue de 135 mg/dl. La Diabetes Mellitus Gestacional y los trastornos hipertensivos son las principales complicaciones relacionadas a obesidad materna. Cómo conclusión El grado l de obesidad es el más frecuente en las gestantes y la mayoría no realiza ningún tipo de actividad Física lo que conlleva al sedentarismo y acumulación excesiva de grasa en el cuerpo Women of reproductive age with obesity and a family history of type 2 diabetes mellitus are at risk of developing gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
