The objective of this project is to predict the number of cases of covid-19 infections and deaths through the application of artificial intelligence techniques in order to validate the effectiveness of a statistical model and counteract the congestion in the health area within the Ecuadorian territory, due to the appearance of a new virus called covid-19 discovered in the city Wuhan in the country of China at the end of 2019 being this of rapid spread causing serious consequences in health systems and health crises worldwide, reaching millions of cases of infections and deaths having a great and drastic impact on various aspects of human life being the most important factor the health area so Neural Network techniques were applied. To apply those models, we first proceeded to collect historical data through websites of the Ecuadorian state about the daily recorded infections and deaths, obtaining a total of 497 records which were processed using the statistical method of time series technique and then in neural network models for the generation of the prediction and validation of the statistical method, the results obtained from each of the neural networks obtain feasible forecasts that are very close to the real values. The main conclusions show that the techniques applied in this project are efficient in predicting the number of cases of covid-19 infection and death based on historical data and that the use of neural networks is very useful for solving various predictive problems.
