Companies in order to carry out their productive activities require resources to finance them.
Managers seek adequate means to obtain liquidity for the operations of the company and that
have low financial costs. The stock market is a financing alternative for companies, however in
Ecuador this market is little used due to the lack of complete and veracious information. Only
5% of the existing companies participate in the stock market, of which 48% are large companies
and the rest are small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The objective of the research is to
promote the participation of the companies in the stock market through a methodological guide
that explains to the issuers the management of this market. The methodology used is of
quantitative type when a survey is carried out to the inexperienced companies in the stock market
and to the companies that participate actively in the same market. The proposal put forward by
the authors consists of a methodological guide on access to the stock market, which includes the
needs identified through the survey to seek the solution and satisfaction of the same. The
research concludes that the stock market offers different financing alternatives and benefits for
companies wishing to participate in the market, in addition the guide guides potential issuers and
opens them the possibility of entering the stock market, contributing to promote stock market
education in the country.
