Resumen
The emission of particulate matter is related to sources such as exhausts of vehicles, gases emitted by industries and other potential generators of harmful pollutants to environmental health. From some dramatic episodes of air pollution, there were air emissions control equipment. Among the various equipment used has the electrostatic precipitators (PE). PE has the advantage of high efficiency in collecting small diameter particles. In this paper we built a PE, bench scale, to observe the removal of particulates generated by a point source. The measurement of the concentration of particulates in EP output was determined by particulate sensor coupled to an Arduino board. Tests were conducted in operating system and observed the high particulate removal proven by measuring the particle concentration by the sensor. At the end of the work, obeteve is a functional module that can be used for demonstrative practical classes the operation of a PE.
