Resumen
Biological pest control has been gaining more and more space as an alternative to higher quality and healthier production for the producer and consumer, thereby reducing the disequilibrium of ecosystems. The use of biological control faces a number of barriers, including lack of knowledge on the part of farmers. The dissemination of knowledge is fundamental for the consolidation and expansion of this pest control strategy. Among the various possible tools of dissemination of knowledge, we have the technical booklets, which provide scientific information in a simpler and accessible to all. In this sense, the objective of this work is the elaboration of a biological control booklet in partnership with the Center for Support and Promotion of Agroecology (CAPA), which advises approximately 30 families of farmers living in the municipality of Verê. The production of the booklet aims to disseminate knowledge about biological control to small producers by encouraging them to improve and / or improve biological control techniques of insect pests. This project was executed in five phases: a) project presentation meeting for a member responsible for the CAPA; b) lecture for technical staff of the CAPA and visit to the properties; c) visit the property of associate to the CAPA and application of questionnaires in properties associated with the CAPA; d) bibliographic research; e) preparation of the booklet. After the methodological steps were taken, the construction of the booklet took place through the demands raised with the application of the questionnaires and the generated content includes definitions and scientific information about the biological pest control theme that aims to help the producer to control the pests present in their properties. According to the survey of data through questionnaires applied to the organic producers served by the CAPA, more than 60% present low level of schooling and little or no information about the Biological Control of Pests. Therefore, the preparation of a booklet as information material containing technical information on biological pest control is presented in a simplified, illustrative language, without losing its technical and scientific information, and it is possible to bring the knowledge to the producers and the general population that seeks knowledge.
