dc.description.abstract | Faced with a complex financial market, with numerous financial products, knowledge related to the context of finance becomes important for everyday decisions in personal and professional life, especially when organizing a control of income and expenses. Thus, the rate of indebted people becomes increasingly worrying, due to the fact that they do not know how to do financial planning, or because they did not have basic financial education to better manage their resources. Thus, this study aimed to identify the perception about financial education of employees of a food company and academics of a public higher education institution. Data collection was performed through a questionnaire, based on research instruments from the studies by Radaelli (2018), which was applied online to the sample selected for the study. 104 questionnaires valid for the proposed study were collected. The results were evaluated using descriptive statistics and the application of the chi-square test. In general terms, the results showed that the financial perception of company professionals and university academics cannot be differentiated. It is noteworthy that 90.40% of respondents reported that they monitor their expenses, which indicates a concern with the structure of personal finance. | |
