Resumen
Lead acid batteries are the most common in the domestic market, its main automotive and battery bank applied to uninterrupted voltage sources, UPS. Despite being a traditional source, they still have many problems of failure and forced reduction of its useful life. The most common causes are incorrect use of charging and fluctuating voltages, as well as the battery being subjected to a means detrimental to its operation. One of the most perceived defects that lead to battery lead to inefficiency is the loss of its electrolyte, through the loss of water, this phenomenon is known as dry out, when it occurs in an uncontrolled way, generates the increase of the electrolyte concentration and consequently intensified corrosion, reducing lead-acid battery life. In order to combat this precocious inefficiency, it is necessary to know its parameters as well as the conditions to which it is submitted. The present work seeks to analyze the losses and show the relationship between the parameters to be submitted to flotation test, as well as the analysis of their capacity loss with capacity tests.
