Resumen
This research presents in the form of a case study, the analysis of the Product Development Process (PDP) in a company that develops automation products for the poultry industry. It discus concepts of innovation management and management of the PDP in order to gain competitive advantages in the market. It was made a qualitative and quantitative analysis about the processes used by the company to better understand its methods and compare them with the chosen reference models. The innovation is approached from the simultaneous model and presents, predominantly, incremental innovation. Data were collected with the partner company of this paper through questionnaires and interviews, and evaluated together with literature through scientific databases and books devoted about modeling PDP and innovation management. It brings as results a detailed analysis of the product development process as the innovation management which were identifying problems related to the documentation of the phases, also it was identified that were missing procedures for launch the product, some activities are being executed stimulatingly and some other issues. The absence of these procedures generate deficiencies in product development, causing errors and limiting innovation. It was given to the company a report identifying those problems.
