Resumen
The present study had as its object of study playing as a learning strategy, since play can be an excellent instrument of mediation between the pleasure of playing and that of learning. And, to analyze the importance of playing in the child's teaching and learning process, a bibliographical research was developed about the reflection of the theme in articles, magazines and websites, scientific publications, in the contributions of authors such as Kishimoto, Vygotsky, Wajskop, Maria Montessori , in addition to documents guiding education with the Ministry of Education (MEC), on which the work was based. The research sought to highlight the contributions of playing in education, in order to understand the greatness and its importance in the teaching and learning process, justifying recognizing the importance of playfulness in this process, aiming at the need to insert it within the school context that can contribute to the child's greater learning. Therefore, an improvement in teaching should be sought, endeavoring to create alternatives that allow practices of playful activities capable of transforming teaching and learning into a moment of creation, imagination, socialization, integration, development of the cognitive area for the acquisition of diverse knowledge.
