Resumen
The soil is an environment rich in biological diversity, being an ecological niche where there are several species that present diverse relationships and interactions from movement and structuring as aggregating organic material and improving their physical and chemical aspects. The edaphic fauna consists of many taxa that have high morphological and functional diversity and represent a large portion of all soil biota, being closely related to the quality and availability of nutrients in the soil, where they play key roles in both nutrient cycling and nutrient cycling. trophic chain. Due to this importance, there are many studies with different aspects of soil fauna, however, there are few studies related to the perception of the general community about these organisms, and this is an important insight into the relationships they have in their use and knowledge. of taxonomic groups. The present work aimed to verify the perception and knowledge of the general community about the theme of soil fauna / soil biology through data that were obtained through a qualitative and quantitative research through a semi-structured questionnaire with open and closed questions. were made available on social media and emails. A total of 117 individuals from 5 different states were reached, comprising 4 regions, of which 80 participants were female, 37 male aged 13 to 54 years old and had different levels of education. The interviewees stressed the functions performed by the edaphic fauna, besides recognizing that the use of different management practices can affect the populations of organisms present there, denoting that the relationship of soil invertebrates is subjective to environmental quality.
