dc.description.abstractPaute is an eastern canton in the province of Azuay that is characterized by having a population that maintains various traditional and artisan practices, ancestral and oral knowledge. This characteristic is a mechanism for the transmission of knowledge that, over time, has been transferred orally and generationally. However, technological development and cultural change have led to the gradual loss of orality. Faced with this situation and from the teaching experience, this thesis deals with a study carried out in a sample of students who attended the third year of high school at the Ciudad de Paute Educational Unit, Azuay, Ecuador. The objective of the study was to determine how oral stories are inserted within a didactic sequence, to improve reading and writing; It was proposed to design and implement didactic sequences, using various oral stories from the rural areas of the Paute canton and to record by means of an exploration the less known and little disseminated rural oral stories of the city. The study found important advances and positive effects after the application of the sequence, improving reading and writing in texts. Finally, the thesis suggests future research that looks at the implementation of oral text as a strategy to improve learning in children and young people.
