Resumen
Teen pregnancy is a public health problem and Ecuador has one of the highest rates in Latin America. Currently, over 20% of teens nationwide are mothers or are pregnant; populations at risk are considered those of low socio-economic strata, lower education groups and living in rustic areas. (1) Limon-Indanza is a canton in the province with the highest number of children nationwide and considering the factors mentioned above can assume that there is greater risk of teenage pregnancy. (2)
Objective: To determine the prevalence and risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy attending outpatient Health Area No. 3. "Limón Indanza", 2013.
Methods: A transversal analytic study was conducted in which the prevalence and risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy in the canton Limon-Indanza was investigated.

Results: 119 pregnant teenagers were found with a prevalence of 10.52% if compared with the total population at risk and 24.54% if we consider the total number of patients attending prenatal. Risk factors that were statistically significant were: Early sexual initiation OR: 14,62 (IC95%: 2,70 – 79,07), and alcohol consumption OR: 1,05 (95% CI: 1.00 to 1.08) and snuff OR: 1,05 (95% CI: 1.00 to 1.08).
