Resumen
Background: sexual female dysfunction and its risk factors have been relegated in comparison to men, despite presenting important disorders of desire, excitement, orgasm and pain, so it is necessary to investigate this situation in the locality.
General objective: to determine the prevalence and factors associated with female sexual dysfunction in users of the Type C La Troncal Health Center, year 2018.
Methodology: this study was observational, analytical, cross-sectional, prevalence. A form of information collection was applied to 300 patients of the Health Center in primary care Type C La Troncal, through a probabilistic sampling. The female sexual function index was used for the evaluation of sexual dysfunction. For the relational analysis, the prevalence ratio (PR) was determined, with its respective 95% confidence interval (95% CI) and Chi square, considering statistical significance when the p value was <0.05.
Results: the prevalence of female sexual dysfunction was 40.3%, with desire disorder in 33% and arousal in 20.7%. The factors associated significantly were age over 40 years (PR= 1.75), low socioeconomic status (PR= 3.57), low instruction (PR= 1.82), partner violence (PR= 2.24) and menopause (PR= 1.82).
Conclusions: the prevalence of female sexual dysfunction was high and was associated with sociodemographic factors, partner violence and menopause, so prevention measures should be promoted to reduce the incidence of this disorder.
