Resumen
Tourism is an option for the maintenance of protected areas, however, due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, it is one of the sectors that had the greatest impact due to
mobility restrictions for the general population and the prohibition of
agglomerations, which that makes it difficult to conserve protected areas, since in
some cases it means a means of subsistence for the surrounding communities.
In this context, the present research arises that aims to analyze cost strategies
and strategic alliances for the first community protected area called Tambillo
Protective Forest. To fulfill the investigative purpose, a type of descriptive
research is carried out with a mixed, quantitative and qualitative approach,
through surveys of operators and interviews with the leaders of the cooperative
responsible for the forest.
The results show that for the offer of tourist services it is necessary to make
adjustments that involve investment and publicity, which can be corrected by the
organization FIDA and OEPS, which provide support to cooperatives. In addition,
it is important that the partners are trained, for this they could count on the support
of WWF Ecuador. On the other hand, for the maintenance of access with the GAD
of Sigsig and Gualaquiza, and advertising with the tourist operators of Cuenca
