Traditional Ecuadorian music genres throughout history have not had the necessary space for broadcast nationally, let alone internationally, this among other reasons has resulted in the formation of Ecuadorian musicians in general and bassists in particular do not have the need to carry out works that heritage, we belong musical material. Bass participation in the development of the history of the national music has been limited due to their initial considerations of construction and use as an instrument of accompaniment. Currently, the guidelines will change little by little, thanks to the versatility of contemporary bassists, then it is consistent and important to raise the study and dissemination of musical works Ecuadorian traditional genres, taking into consideration the different techniques and creative possibilities that can generate different rates.
This work focuses on the technique of adapting the existing musical material bass audio or score, of recognized works of Ecuadorian traditional genres.
As a contribution this research contributes to the enrichment of the Ecuadorian musical literature, developing an academic view of national music for bass presenting ten representative works of different traditional genres of important sectors of our country, appropriate to the technique of the instrument; respected as far as possible the original melodic line, looking for the most convenient hues, in addition to the necessary technical inputs such as positions, shades, fingering, gagging, ie; scores ready for execution, further find the sheet music written for piano accompaniment with encryption, which will facilitate the execution of the works. The topics have been chosen under the following parameters: retention time, popular taste, melodies, tonal harmonic structures attractive as it is considered that there are sufficient tools in them for the purpose, which is to take the bass as an instrument that can generate various melodic outlines, without prejudice to the technical considerations and interpretive difficulties of his own nature.
The availability of labor is available to interested parties, and is expected to be useful in active musicians, students and teacher’s bass, since scores in question have explanations and terminology specific to the instrument.
Paramount is considered the embodiment of the present work, as an academic contribution to the repertoire of national music for double bass.
