Resumen
The objective of this article is to determine an indicator of climate organizational
and an indicator of job satisfaction for teachers at the University of Cuenca.
Likewise, to demonstrate the importance of the employment situation of teachers
both in their Climate Organizational and Job Satisfaction, thus allowing
establishing a clear criterion of the positive or negative impact that these variables
have on the correct performance of teachers. The research area was the 12
faculties of the University of Cuenca, taking a sample of 372 teachers, between
hired and incumbents. The methodology is based on a study qualitativequantitative, of descriptive and cross-sectional nature and non-exploratory
character.
The Litwin and Stringer's (1968) Organizational Climate model and J.L. Meliá and
J.M. Peiró (1998) S20/23 Job Satisfaction model served as the basis for
determination the indicators, which were adapted to the educational environment.
The results obtained with the determination of the indicators were: 65% of the
teachers show that their organizational climate is "Good", instead, the general job
satisfaction shows that 78% of the teaching staff is "Quite satisfied" with their
situation labor.
