Agree that the architecture of the city of Cuenca is a vernacular architecture, which has been improved from generation to generation, it is appropriate to reflect and learn from it, but also need to enrich and renew.
At present, due to environmental problems, we must think not only visually pleasing buildings, but also in those that are friendly to the environment, therefore it is essential sustainable housing project, to create a higher level of comfort, optimizing leverage resources and materials from the region considering the climatic conditions to obtain maximum performance with the least impact through energy efficient and formally well-conceived projects, as a result of climate analysis and be able to apply the requirements to a sustainable project, based on program needs for a family interested in environmental quality, through a conscious architecture.
As a result, this paper can take as an input, which provides sustainable architectural solutions that can be applied to housing. To achieve this, it is very important to the relationship Architecture - Environment, which allows us to know better the resources provided by nature to enhance them for housing and thus reduce environmental impacts through mechanisms that reduce or eliminate dependence on non-renewable resources.
