This research aims to analyze whether possible alterations of body image exist and which of them are the most frequent dietary behaviors in female stage artists of the city of Cuenca. The sample is composed of 40 actresses, 40 dancers and 20 models, having a total of 100 participants. The method of investigation was of quantitative approach, exploratory and descriptive scope to refer the studied variables. Two instruments were used to collect the information: the first one was the EDI 2 test that analyzes the possible eating disorders in the population and the second one was BSQ test that qualifies the alterations of the body image. Its results were processed and analyzed using the following programs: IBM SPSS Statistic version 23, and Excel 2016. Results: The population presents slight alterations, 34% of the population is above cut-off point. As for the most frequent dietary behaviors we found the fear of maturity with 65% of the population above average, followed by impulsivity with 45% and finally with then perfectionism with 40%. All these behaviors occur more frequently in the population of dancers, actresses and models of the city of Cuenca.
Conclusions. This population presents neither eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, 34% of the population responds to alterations of the body image disorders. However, these artists demonstrated risky behaviors such as fear of maturity, impulsivity, perfectionism and interpersonal mistrust, which can lead a high risk for future alterations.
