Resumen
Objective: To determine self-care in people with DMT2 attending the Diabetic Club Health Centre N01 Pumapungo - Cuenca 2013. Central Question ¿What is self-care in people with DMT2?
Method and Materials: Is a quantitative, observational, descriptive study which identified self-care in people with DMT2 attending the Diabetic Club. We worked with the entire universe of people. The research techniques used were: direct observation and implementation of a survey. Data were collected through a form, applied by the researchers, they were processed and analyzed in SPSS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and presented in tables.
Results:
A total population of 57 people with DMT2 attending the Diabetic Club , appearing more frequently in women with 61% and between the ages of 45 -65 years or more were studied , 37% of the total are married , 32% widowed.
The 94.7 % of people taking or administering medication to control the disease and 5.3% with the control balanced diet and proper exercise.
It was observed that 82.5 % are physically active, 100% goes to medical control 52.6 % are fed between 4-6 times a day.
Conclusions: The findings of this study demonstrate that the 57 people surveyed, perform different activities for yourself as proper exercise, balanced diet and general care of the skin and feet, thus helping them to better carry the disease.
