Resumen
This research aims to design a plan for the exportation of cocoa beans to the United States, from the Union of Peasant and Indigenous Organizations of the Canton Echeandia "UNORCIE", Bolivar Province, in the year 2018, which defines the processes to improve the profitability. Different methods, techniques and instruments have been used during the investigative process that allowed the correct collection of data; After the application of interviews to the managers and surveys to the members, it was determined that the organization has approximately a maximum production of 1500 quintals of cocoa beans per month; UNORCIE only sells in the internal market at the moment; however the partners believe that exporting the product is an opportunity for growth. Different technical and financial market studies were carried out; concluding that Ecuadorian cocoa is desired in the foreign market; the raw material will be sent to Florida specifically to Hoffman's chocolate shop; the requirements for both the Ecuadorian export process and the US import process have also been described. It is recommended that UNORCIE partners take advantage of growth opportunities, open new markets, looking for the generation of higher earnings for the benefit of the producer families of the canton. The financial evaluation showed that a capital recovery is expected in an approximate time of 2 years and 6 months; IRR of 31.43%, NPV of USD 992,231.29, and a cost benefit of USD 2.34; demonstrating the economic viability of the project.
