Resumen
The main objective of this research study was to establish a Unitary-Dose dispensing system (UDDS) in the dialysis area of the Hospital General Ambato (IESS) that allows to validate, as well as control and efficiently distribute of medicines. The methodological approach used was the qualitative-quantitative research approach, which allowed for to design, management, and combining information based on the attributes of the problem, as well as the collection of quantitative information in field research. The research design was consistent with the lines of the field and bibliographic research, while the level used was exploratory because it analyzed the problem in the dialysis area of the Hospital General Ambato (IESS). Subsequently, descriptive research was used, while the data collection techniques used was a survey addressed to the pharmacy staff as well as nursing staff, while the medical staff involved in the area was minimal, a personal interview was applied. In the results that were collected, it was observed the need to generate a framework addressed by a Unitary-Dose dispensing system (UDDS), in a way that encourages teamwork, to handle validated information to the reference to the requirements of the patient, in order to establish the minimization of the risk of medical errors, which can be presented. Therefore, it is concluded that it is imperative to have a (UDDS) to improve the quality of the service so that a systematic and synergistic proposal to project an image of institutional efficiency adhering to regulations generated by the Ministerio de Salud Pública. It is recommended to generate documentation and formulation of the medication in Unitary-Dose dispensing systems, integral, and complementary in a way that allows generating coupling to the regulations
