Resumen
The objective of the present research work was to determine the water quality and to elaborate a proposal of mitigation of the Quebrada River that is used for human consumption in Macas, Proaño, and San Isidro, it is located in the parroquia of San Isidro, Morona Canton, Province of Morona Santiago. Initially, the baseline survey was carried out through a route of the (section: RQPP – RQP4) where five named sampling points were established (RQPP, RQP1, RQP2, RQP3, RQP4), describing the physical and biological environment in each of these point based on the field form for the characterization of the activities on the banks of the Quebrada River, in addition, the flow calculation and the analysis of the physical-chemical and microbiological parameters were carried out, which allowed the determination of the index of quality ICA – NSF, the study was developed over a period of three months (July, August and September). Where according to the comparison made of the results of the analyses with Table 1, from BULK VI of the TULSMA, ANNEX I, it was evidenced that in point RQP4 the quality criteria exceed the limit established for the fecal coliforms and in the points RQP1, RQP3, RQP4 exceed the parameter of DBO5, so it is recommended to implement the PMA proposed in this work to improve and conserve the water quality of the Quebrada River. The results obtained from the average flow were 0,24 m3/s, and a quality index equal to 79,57 giving a Good Quality denotation in all the monitoring stations. Subsequently, the mitigation proposal was made for the study section, for which an Environmental Management Plan is proposed, based on four programs: Land Management and Planning Program; Environmental education; Reforestation; and Control and Monitoring.
