dc.description.abstractIn the facilities of the poultry farm ¨Santa Ana¨, located, via Macas – Sevilla, morona Canton. Province of Morona Santiago, the effect of different levels of natural pigmentation Bixa orrellana I. (Achiote), (2.5, 5 and 7.5%) was assessed, the experimental units were formed by 200 chickens, and were modeled under a completely random design. The results indicate that the application of achiote improves the presentation of the product in terms of the heat of the skin and the meat, to raise the preference of the consumer. The evaluation of the productive behavior, register the highest value in the treatment T1 with 231.2 G at 7 days; and 1240.2 G at 21 days, and treatment control T0 with 2918.6 at 49 days. The highesr weight gain register control treatment with 2871.82 G, and the highest feed intake T2 treatment with 4645. 4 G. The most efficient result of food conversión recorded T3 treatment with 1.53, it means, to produce 1Kg of meat is required 1,53kg of food. In pigmentation it was odserved that the treatment T1 obtained the best degree of pigmentation with 8.4 in the scale of the colorimeter. The economic analysis determined higher profitability in the T1 treatment with a value of 1.25; which means that for every dollar invested you have a profit of 0.25 cents, plus you have the advantage of using a natural pigment does not affect the health of the consumer Key words: POULTRY FARM, POULTRY FARMING, NATURAL PIGMENTATION
