Resumen
The present certification work was to design an industrial process to obtain bioethanol from cassava (yuca). Therefore, laboratory tests were carried out to determine each one of the variables in the different stages. This began with the physico-chemical characterization of the raw material. Continuing with an acid hydrolysis with HCI (hydrochloric acid) with a concentration of 37%, working with a pH of 1.3. The sterilization was carried out in a Tuttnauer brand autoclave, model 2340, controlling the pressure 15Psi, Temperature 121°C, and finally the residence time of the sample inside the equipment for 30 minutes. To continue with a neutralization with NaOH (sodium hydroxide) at 20%. The fermentation is marked by the use of yeast (Saccharomyces Cerevisiae) as well as the time of 14 days. While in distillation, the temperature should not exceed 72°C in order to obtain an initial product of 40°GL. The dehydration was performed on a BUCHI R-300 rotary evaporator in which a product of 96.29°GL was obtained, with a yield of 27%. For this reason, an operational design that obtains a product of 99.77% of ethanol purity is proposed, the same which was carried out by SuperPro Designer v9.0 software. The design was divided into three sections such as: pre-treatment, fermentation and separation (distillation and dehydration). In the dehydration stage, it is recommended to use a CAG distillation column, which is composed of a granular carbon bed, which will help us to increase the purity of ethanol. However, through economic analysis it is shown that the implementation of the design is not feasible because the recovery of the capital will be 10.64 years.
