Resumen
This systematization of research practices addresses a study of gender stereotypes from the perspective of psychology, which goes hand in hand with the categories of gender, behavior, inequality and violence. It also presents how social psychology is immersed in the psychological processes of subjects such as feeling, behavior and reasoning, because people aren’t limited to individuality, but to the community. For the purpose of this research, the state of the art was carried out, which is addressed and proposed as a methodological proposal for the critical analysis of the various dimensions that are proposed regarding the topic to be developed. The sample; In this case, they’re bibliographic review documents that, through a selection filter, took into consideration scientific articles that must be closely related to psychology within the 2010-2021-time range. Gender stereotypes are studied by psychology from a behavioral approach, understood as a set of beliefs and thoughts that legislate the behavior of the individual, establishing themselves as I do normally in everyday life. Other perspectives indicate how the stereotypes are present from the childhood of the subjects and involve their development in family, educational and social environments. Some authors associate gender stereotypes with violence due to circumstances that are generated in sentimental relationships of couples and family. Due to the different triggers of gender stereotypes, it’s concluded that the main challenge of Psychology is to study them in greater depth to prevent violence in a timely manner. Likewise, stereotypes are reproducers of the Status quo and therefore they’re beliefs that must be modified to avoid harm and prejudice in society.
