Resumen
The health-oriented educational programs involved in a fundamental issue that, regardless of the media,
should be given a space for reflection and analysis. In this way, one of the pressing problems in the society
of the 21st century is metabolic disorders due to deficiencies in diet, which triggers diseases such as
diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, among others, which in turn are the triggers for kidney diseases. .
Based on this contextualization, the communicative product, a kidney disease radio program, "A new
opportunity to live", which through interviews and testimonies, addresses the causes, symptoms and
consequences of kidney disease that may also be asymptomatic, is justified. Consequently, the radio
program aims to raise awareness to promote timely prevention, identifying the different risk factors
involved in the development of kidney disease. In this sense, it is highlighted that people with this
pathology are included in an age range of 25 to 65 years, and that they also have emotional, work and even
family conditions. Statistics according to the Ministry of Public Health indicate that as of 2018, cases have
been increasing, with 63.5% of the Ecuadorian population suffering from this disease. Therefore, a critical
analysis fosters a culture of health and prevention for the Ecuadorian population.
