Resumen
The aim of this review is to show the relationships between the structure, processing and properties of the composite material based on cellulose or lignocellulose fibres and starch based matrix. Properties of blend based on starch with other biodegradable polymer such as polyesters (polycaprolactone (PCL), polyhydroxyalcanoates (PHAs), polylactic acid (PLA), polyesteramide (PEA)) were discussed. In order to improve the mechanical properties of the matrices, cellulose nanofibers and natural fibers such as flax, sisal and jute, was also utilized in the literature. The effect of processing conditions on the distribution of the filler and fibre dimension was analyzed. Aqueous and soil-burial degradation was reviewed.
