Resumen

In a globalized world, education becomes a master key to compete with the skills for the 21st century as they are the engines of the workforce. However, in Latin America, education is a critical issue considering that access has progressed. Still, in terms of quality, it has not had the same results. The problem arises when showing that the traditional school has been slow to adapt to the transformations presented by today's society. Amid this reality, many young people do not trust that the school adequately prepares them with the skills and competencies they require for today's job market. This fact can reduce the opportunities of young people in the labor market, generating a disconnect between the skills that companies need and those that schools are teaching young people. As a result, this thesis wants to analyze the relationship between skills for young people of the XXI century, education, and the labor market in Latin America.
